Due to the disruption in administering certification exams in 2020 from the COVID-19 pandemic, the following 7 ABMS Member Boards have opted to provide an extension of the certification date for their physicians and their Certification Status will remain Certified : American Board of Anesthesiology (12/31/2021) American Board of Allergy and Immunology (12/31/2021) American Board of Dermatology (6/30/21) American Board of Emergency Medicine (6/30/21) American Board of Family Medicine (12/31/21) American Board of Preventive Medicine (6/30/21) American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (12/31/21) American Board of Internal Medicine Reverification Date Change in 2021 American Board of Internal Medicine is extending its grace period until 12/31/2021. Any physician currently certified with ABIM and has a Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirement that was due in 2020 will now have until the end of 2021 to complete the requirement. The ABIM Reverification Date for these physicians will be 12/31/2021. ABIM physicians who are currently in their grace period will also have a grace period extension through the end of 2021.
